Rural Resources spring season is in
full swing and April and May have been busy months! We celebrated the
ground breaking for the new facility and enjoyed the annual meeting
and land blessing with great food and music (Check out the last
post!). The teens on the farm have been busy and so has farmer
Melissa. The plant sale took place on May 2nd, some
veggies and herbs are already being harvested and sold, and the Soil
Workshop – take a look at the pictures below – was a huge success. The farm is
gearing up for Farm Day Camps and registration is open. You
won't want to miss any of the goings on, so be sure to checkout and
like our Facebook page for events and updates!
Rural Resources Grazing for Soil Health
Workshop
The beautiful Wilder Farm, nestled in
the rolling hills of Greene County, hosted the Rural Resources
Grazing for Soil Health Workshop on May 7th, in
cooperation with several local and state agencies, and assorted
experts.
A shuttle provided transportation from the designated parking area to the red barn for check-in, and was available for those who needed transportation between workshop stations throughout the day.
Natural Resources Conservation Service District Conservationist Mike McElroy was master of ceremonies for the day's events.
